Langley School Celebrates Annual Empowering Women Event

8th February 2025

Langley School proudly hosted its second annual Empowering Women event, a unique gathering designed to support and uplift young women. This occasion brought together pupils, alumni, and prominent female role models to celebrate achievements and inspire the next generation.

Open to local schools, the event featured engaging teamwork activities, an interactive quiz, and the chance to participate in three enlightening mentoring sessions. This year’s program provided an incredible opportunity for young women to collaborate and learn from our esteemed guest speakers, all of whom generously shared insights into their career journeys and life experiences.

The event celebrated its roots by welcoming back founders Zoe and Mollie, who recently graduated from Langley School Sixth Form. With the support of our Fem Soc, they organized last year’s event, carrying forward a legacy of empowering young women to pursue their dreams.

This year’s leadership came from two of our Year 12 students, Etholle TC and Harriet D. They curated a welcoming atmosphere filled with talks representing a diverse range of fields, including acting, finance, and construction.

They told us:
“The idea behind the event is to give girls at Langley and other local schools the opportunity to discover what their life may look like after school. Introducing them to potential careers, while allowing them to get first-hand knowledge from industry professionals.”
