Name & Job Title.
Ali Colman, Head of Football
Where did you join Langley from/what was your previous role?
I spent six years at the Community Sports Foundation working my way up from part time Coach to Sport Development Officer. The following six years after that I spent at Norwich City Football Club, working initially as Operations Manager/Academy Coach, and then moving to Foundation Phase Lead Coach position, before joining the Langley Football Academy. Â
Tell us a little bit about yourself and your role at Langley…
I’m passionate about developing individuals, both as football players and people. My role at Langley is to coach and develop all the players within the Langley Football Academy so that they reach their maximum potential. Alongside this, I organise and take all the school football teams for fixtures alongside colleagues within the football department.
What do you enjoy most about your role at Langley?
I enjoy working with the players out on the football pitches, and the multi-cultural environment within the LFA, with so many players coming from different parts of the globe. It’s also been fantastic to see more girls joining the LFA programme and introducing girls football squads into the fixture calendar and seeing them competing in fixtures.
Any hobbies/interests outside of school?
I love to travel and explore the world at any opportunity!
A fun fact about yourself.
I once played pool with the band Kings of Leon in a bar in New Haven, Connecticut after watching them perform live!
