Meet the Team: Vicky Codling, Head of Boarding
Name & Job Title.
Vicky Codling – Head of Boarding
Where did you join Langley from/what was your previous role?
I have had many different roles but all working with or alongside children. Before coming to Langley, I was a full time mum to my two daughters and running a local dance and performing art school which I still run.
Tell us a little bit about yourself and your role at Langley…
I was born in Norfolk but spent many years travelling in my previous roles. When I came back to Norfolk, I took over a local dance and performing arts school, which I have now run for the past 17 years. I have two daughters, Darci – Rose who is 13 and Adara who is 12. We also have a very friendly dog called Boe. My role here at Langley is Head of Boarding, and I also work on the safeguarding team in the school. My role here in Boarding is to overseeing all the pupils and students that board with us, which means that essentially, I am mum to 49 teenagers! My role involves everything that a parent does plus keeping up with all the day to day tasks involved in keeping the house running safely and smoothy.
What do you enjoy most about your role at Langley?
Every day is different, and I love working with pupils of all different ages and cultures.
Any hobbies/interests outside of school?
Most of my spare time is spent running the local dance school or taking the boarding pupils and students and/or my daughters to their activities.
A fun fact about yourself.
I have danced with Wayne Sleep.
