We are proud to share the 2025 Good Schools Guide review of Langley Prep School. Since its inaugural publication 40 years ago, the Good Schools Guide has grown to become perhaps the foremost guide of its kind. The team at Good Schools Guide has always adhered to their founding principles, that prospective parents deserve an unbiased view of each school that they feature across both the independent and maintained sector. The Guide over the years has grown and now features international schools, online schools, and schools specialising in provision for SEND.
Selection for the guide is by invitation only, making the review process entirely independent and all the more rewarding for featured schools. The commitment that schools make to the Good Schools Guide in return is that reports must be published in their original form, without any editing save for an annual update of some of the key facts contained within the report, such as exam results and school size.
We are delighted with the contents of the report, as it captures what is special about Langley; our lack of pretension, our ambition for pupils, rooted in a deep understanding of their needs, and the beautiful surroundings in which pupils learn and grow. It is particularly gratifying that these findings were consistent across both Langley Prep and Langley Senior, underlining our commitment to a consistent through-school experience.
It is also important to note that both Langley Prep and Langley Senior have unique characteristics, and these too are highlighted in the report, which we hope you enjoy reading. One of the things we are most proud of is that we allow children to be children; to explore, to learn, to grow, and to build character. The foundation stones of a lifelong love of learning are laid at Langley Prep.
Our curriculum is praised for its variety, offering pupils opportunities in creative and performing arts alongside a strong sports programme, with achievements at county and national level. The report also celebrates the richness of our Co-curricular activities. Subsequent to the report going to press, we have announced that we are commencing two new initiatives: the Junior Duke Scheme (a national scheme leveraging the principles of The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award, tailored for a younger audience), and the Young Entrepreneurs Academy, building real-world business schools for our older pupils.
The summary statement captures the essence of Langley perfectly:
“…it is hard to think of a child who wouldn’t flourish in this warm, nurturing school.”
