Ever wondered what a week in a boarding house looks like? Well, here’s what our Langley boarding family got up to recently…
On Monday evening we had a pamper night. Former boarding staff member Lauren came in with her Tropic skin care. She taught the boarders all about having a good skin care routine. They were able to give themselves their own facials and try the products. It was a lovely evening and nice for us to spend some quality time with the girls. The boys house will have an event next term.
We also had a house meeting Monday evening, when Head of Boarding Mrs Codling praised the house for the lovely atmosphere. She also explained the new merit system. The boarders will have a room check every week, and will be awarded a boarding merit if their room is tidy. We are also going to have a ‘Boarder of the Month,’ voted for by staff and rewarded by merits. Staff will look for boarders who show that they are working with our boarding principles in mind, while also working hard in school and achieving their best.
Wednesday evening we had a impromptu trip to the theatre after we were offered some tickets to see Betty Blue Eyes at the Theatre Royal in Norwich. For some, it was their first trip to the theatre. What’s more, two member of our Langley Prep staff were in the performance!
On Friday evening, as it was ‘Burns Night,’ during which the boarders experienced traditional Scottish food, including haggis by our catering staff. It was a great way to end the week.
