5th November 2026
Last summer, pupils from across the Langley School community, from Bluebell Nursery to Sixth Form, were invited to explore the natural world and share their discoveries through photography and film as part of the Our Wild World competition.
Inspired by Sir David Attenborough’s 100th birthday, the competition encouraged pupils to pause, observe and capture the beauty, wonder and importance of the environment around them.
The response was exceptional. From striking landscapes and intricate natural details to thoughtful studies of wildlife and habitats, the entries showcased the imagination, technical skill and genuine curiosity of our pupils.
Judging proved no easy task. Mrs Rackham, Mr Edwards and Mrs Robinson were impressed by the outstanding quality of the submissions, as well as the creativity, individuality and personal perspectives reflected in the work.
We are delighted to celebrate the winners of the 2026 Our Wild World photography competition:
Bluebell Nursery – My Grown-Up and Me (Joint Winners)
Years R–2
Years 3–5
Years 6–8
Years 9–11
Years 12–13
Our warmest congratulations go to all our winners, and our sincere thanks to every pupil who took part. Each submission helped tell a story about the natural world, reminding us of the importance of taking time to notice, appreciate and care for the environment around us.
Winning entries will go on display in a very special exhibition at Taverham Mill Nature Reserve, which will be officially opened on the afternoon of Tuesday 10th November, after which members of the Langley community are warmly invited to visit and enjoy the work on display.
The exhibition is a wonderful celebration of the creativity and talent of our pupils and reflects the spirit of Our Wild World: seeing our environment with curiosity, wonder and respect.
