Nestled in one of Norfolk’s picturesque hamlets, Langley’s superb boarding facilities offer a welcoming and homely setting for its students. More than just a place to stay, Langley has fostered a thriving community and opened a plethora of opportunities for students. From its dedicated staff members to its carefully curated activities and curriculum for children, Langley promotes individuality among every child and supports their physical and emotional development.
As the academic year draws to a close, we acknowledge and reflect on the remarkable journey students have shared at Langley Boarding House. Among the year’s most cherished milestone was the arrival of Lang and Lee, our adorable Guinea pigs. Their presence has brought a comforting sense of home to the boarding house and more than a few smiles along the way.
The past year at Langley Boarding has seen remarkable growth and shared experiences. Our community has thrived with academic excellence, creative exploration, and memorable moments.
Throughout the academic year, many of our boarders have embraced new opportunities, built long lasting friendships and contributed to Langley’s vibrant community.
Langley Boarding has had the privilege of hosting both Thai and Chinese immersion groups, broadening our appreciation for global culture. It was a pleasure to welcome them, and we look forward to their return.
We have been here, there, and everywhere on weekends! From thrilling days at Pleasure Beach, to go-karting, tubing, mini golf, and even Zorb ball fun, there has been no shortage of adrenaline and excitement. We also enjoyed a splash at Beccles Lido, a spooky evening at Prime Evil, and a magical winter trip to Winter Wonderland.
Our more relaxed outings have been just as memorable. There were plenty of weekend trips into Norwich, including a special night for late-night Christmas shopping and the big light switch-on, where the festive spirit was in full swing. We had a blast at the Prep School fireworks display and proudly cheered on our peers during the school production, Bound For Broadway—with several of our own boarders taking to the stage and absolutely shining!
Back at the house, the creativity and community spirit have been in full force. We enjoyed plenty of arts and crafts, including Gonk making, mug decorating, and clay modelling, as well as festive favourites like a pumpkin carving competition and gingerbread house making.
For our Sixth Form students, we hosted special cheese and wine nights, offering a relaxed and grown-up way to unwind and celebrate their senior roles, while our younger boarders enjoyed their very own end-of-term disco, filled with dancing, lights, and memories to last.
On the sports front, there has been much to celebrate—especially on the football field, where several of our boys were selected to represent Norfolk. A huge congratulations to them for their hard work and dedication!
We also enjoyed some competitive fun at the driving range, went bowling, watched Norwich City FC live in action, and dined out in style at favourites like Nando’s and Zak’s Wings Wednesday. And of course, the warm weather brought with it sunny picnics and lively games of rounders on the lawn.
Perhaps most importantly, we said a proud and heartfelt goodbye to our Year 11 and Year 13 students, who have played such an important role in our boarding community. We wish them all the best as they move on to new adventures—you will always be part of the boarding house family.
From cosy nights, into days packed with fun, it’s been a year full of memories, friendships, and growth. A huge thank you to every boarder and staff member who made it so special. We cannot wait to do it all again next year!
To finish off an amazing year, we had the absolute pleasure of finding out that both Heads of School for 2025 will come from within our boarding house. A massive congratulations to E Mulhall and Y Mitchell—we are incredibly proud of you both and wish you nothing but success in your roles next year.
