To mark World Cancer Day, our talented Sixth Form students hosted the inspiring ‘Capturing Courage Exhibition’ to raise funds for the charity Little Lifts. The event was a heartfelt tribute to those affected by breast cancer and highlighted the strength of individuals facing this challenge.
The exhibition featured an art auction and a display of exceptional photography by Rosie B (U6), which poignantly captures the experiences of those impacted by breast cancer. We were honoured to have special guest speakers who shared their moving stories as beneficiaries of the charity, illuminating the impact that support can have on individuals and families.
To raise funds for Little Lifts, attendees had the chance to bid on stunning pieces made by our pupils, with all proceeds going to their cause. The event was ticketed and those who came could also make donations on the night.
Adding to the ambience of the Langley School Ballroom, Ben M (U6) provided excellent piano performances that filled the space beautifully, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere for all guests. Our dedicated Sixth Form team also provided refreshments throughout the night.
Our Sixth Form students have been actively participating in the Little Lifts Schools Challenge 250. This initiative encourages creative fundraising efforts to raise money for Little Lifts Gift Boxes, which offer essential support to individuals dealing with breast cancer. The enthusiasm and commitment of our students to this cause have been inspiring, showcasing their dedication to making a positive difference in the community.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the Little Lifts team for attending the event. It was a truly remarkable evening, combining artistry, community spirit, and a noble cause, and we look forward to continuing our fundraising efforts.
